Autumn: The Magic of Letting Go, Finding Yourself and Embracing Change 🍂
It's here. Have you been feeling it too?

Have you been wondering why you suddenly feel a little different? Not quite so full of energy, motivated or hopeful. Perhaps a little jaded, flat or even empty at times.
That brightness seems to have disappeared somehow, and you can't quite put your finger on why.
It feels as though it's happened overnight.
I wonder if you've felt it too?
The changing seasons and their impact on us
Autumn is such a magical time of year, a season filled with rich colours and the beauty of nature transforming before our eyes.
Along with spring, it's one of the most visually transformative times of the year. Yet the energy of these two seasons feels so different.
Spring is nature bursting into life, reaching outwards, opening up and embracing new beginnings.
Autumn is nature beginning to let go.
It's a time for releasing what has served its purpose, returning it to the earth and gradually turning inwards. A time to slow down, become more introspective and prepare for a different rhythm of life.
And perhaps there's something in this natural transition that speaks to us more deeply than we realise.
After the warmth, intensity and vibrancy of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, when we can spend more time outdoors, enjoy the longer days and embrace life a little more freely, we arrive in autumn.
Suddenly, the light changes. The temperatures drop. The storms arrive, the evenings draw in, and the natural world around us begins to shift.
For me, it feels as though a switch has been flicked.
And I've noticed the change within myself, too.
When the season changes, something within us can shift
I'm a lover of nature. I follow its rhythms and cycles, and I find sanctuary in the natural world.
It's something I've come to need more and more in what can feel like an increasingly chaotic, turbulent and fast-paced world.
Nature offers me a place to pause, breathe and reconnect with myself.
But even with that connection, I notice the shift that autumn brings. I feel it in my own energy, my thoughts and my emotions.
Over time, I've learnt to understand, appreciate and move with this change rather than resist it.
Because letting go isn't always easy.
And perhaps that's something we can all recognise in our own lives.
Sometimes, when the world around us begins to slow down, we become more aware of what's happening within us.
Thoughts and feelings we've pushed aside may begin to surface. Situations we've been tolerating may no longer feel right. Familiar patterns, old hurts or questions we've been avoiding might begin to ask for our attention.
Perhaps you've been feeling unsettled without really understanding why.
Maybe you're standing at a crossroads, knowing something needs to change but not knowing what that change looks like.
Or perhaps life has already changed around you.
A relationship has shifted. Your family circumstances are different. Your career no longer feels aligned with who you are. You've relocated abroad, returned to the UK after years away, or found yourself in a new chapter of life that you hadn't quite anticipated.
Even changes we've consciously chosen can leave us feeling uncertain about who we are and where we're heading.
We can find ourselves somewhere between the life we've known and the life we're yet to create.
And that in-between space can feel uncomfortable.
We may long for clarity, searching outside ourselves for answers, while somewhere deep within us, we sense that we need to pause and listen.
Perhaps autumn offers us the perfect invitation to do just that.
The beautiful invitation of autumn: letting go
Autumn reminds us that letting go is a natural part of life.
Look at the trees. They don't cling desperately to every leaf, trying to hold on to what once was. They allow the leaves to fall, following the natural rhythm of change.
And yet, how often do we do the opposite?
We hold on to old expectations, beliefs, relationships and ways of being that we've perhaps outgrown.
We keep going when we're tired. We push through when something within us is asking us to pause. We hold on to what feels familiar, even when it no longer feels right.
Sometimes, we do this without even realising it.
Letting go can feel frightening because it asks us to loosen our grip on the familiar. We may not know who we'll be without that old belief, that familiar role or that particular way of living.
We may not yet be able to see what comes next.
But what if letting go isn't about losing something?
What if it's about creating space for something new to emerge?
This is what I love about autumn.
It reminds us that we don't have to hold on to everything we've known. We can honour what has brought us to this point in our lives, recognise what it has taught us and acknowledge when something has served its purpose.
We can feel gratitude for the experiences that have shaped us without needing to carry every part of them forwards.
We can begin to release old patterns, beliefs and expectations that no longer support the women we are becoming.
And we can allow ourselves to step into the next chapter with greater awareness, openness and trust.
We don't need to have everything figured out.
We don't need to know exactly what comes next.
Sometimes, we simply need to create the space to listen to ourselves and discover what feels right for us now.
Just as nature returns its fallen leaves to the earth, we too can begin to release what we no longer need to carry.
Not by forcing ourselves to change, but by allowing change to unfold with greater understanding and compassion.
Finding your way through the in-between
Of course, knowing that we're ready for change and knowing how to navigate it are two very different things.
Perhaps you recognise that something in your life isn't working as it once did, but you can't quite work out what needs to change.
Perhaps you keep finding yourself in the same situations or experiencing familiar feelings, despite your best efforts to move forwards.
Or maybe you're facing a significant life transition and feel unsure how to find your footing again.
When we're in the middle of these experiences, it can be difficult to see things clearly.
We can become so caught up in trying to work everything out that we lose touch with our own inner wisdom.
We question ourselves. We look outside ourselves for answers. We wonder whether we're making the right decisions.
Sometimes, what we need most isn't another person telling us what to do.
We need a space where we can slow down, explore what's happening beneath the surface, understand ourselves more deeply and reconnect with the answers that feel true for us.
A space where we can gently uncover what's holding us back, work through what needs attention and begin to see new possibilities.
This is where going within can become such a powerful part of our journey.
And it's something we don't always have to do alone.
How can you embrace the magic of autumn?
You don't need to make big changes or embark on a journey of self-discovery overnight.
You can begin with something simple.
Take a walk in nature. Notice the colours, the changing light and the leaves falling around you. Allow yourself to be present rather than rushing towards the next thing on your to-do list.
Put your phone away for a little while. Give yourself permission to be still.
And perhaps take a moment to reflect on these questions:
🍂 What is happening in my life right now that is asking for my attention?
🍂 What am I holding on to that no longer feels right for me?
🍂 Are there patterns, beliefs or expectations that I'm ready to explore or release?
🍂 Where am I being invited to change, even if I don't yet know what that change looks like?
🍂 What might become possible if I gave myself the time and space to reconnect with myself?
You don't need to force answers to come.
Simply allow yourself to become curious about what arises.
You may discover that what you thought you needed to change isn't quite what you expected. You may begin to see a familiar situation differently. Or you may simply become more aware of what you need at this point in your life.
Whatever emerges, meet yourself with kindness.
Remember that growth doesn't always mean doing more, pushing harder or striving to become someone different.
Sometimes, growth begins when we give ourselves permission to stop, listen and reconnect with who we are beneath the expectations, responsibilities and experiences that have shaped us.
And sometimes, we need a little support to help us find clarity amongst the clouds.
You don't have to navigate your journey alone
As a spiritual life coach, I support women who find themselves at a threshold in their lives.
Women who know, on some level, that they're ready for something to change, but who may feel stuck, uncertain or unsure of their next step.
Perhaps you're navigating relationship struggles, family challenges or changes in your career.
Maybe you're moving abroad, returning to the UK or adjusting to a completely different way of life.
Or perhaps there's no obvious external reason for how you're feeling. You simply sense that something within you is ready to shift.
Whatever your circumstances, you may find yourself standing between what has been and what is yet to come.
This is where my work at The Power in You begins.
I see my role as helping you build a bridge between where you are now and where you feel called to be.
My approach blends grounded, practical guidance with intuitive insight and spiritual practices, creating a nurturing and empowering space for you to explore what's happening in your life, understand what may be holding you back and reconnect with your own inner wisdom.
Rather than telling you who you should be or what choices you should make, I support you in discovering your own answers, recognising your strengths and exploring the possibilities available to you.
Because sometimes, the clarity we seek begins when we create the space to listen to ourselves.

There are times for growth, expansion and new beginnings. And there are times when life invites us to turn inwards, reflect and reconsider what truly matters to us.
Neither is more important than the other. Both are part of our journey.
Perhaps this autumn is inviting you to pause for a moment.
To listen to what your heart is telling you.
To acknowledge what you're ready to release.
And to begin creating space for the woman you're becoming.
